I was looking at a laser over on laserglow.com and one of the members recommended getting one of these cases to store the laser in.

I am familiar with Pelican and own a case of theirs. I just dont see these otterboxes being better than the Pelican line of cases. Anyone have any experience with these cases?

I just got a small one to carry batteries ,looks ok. Pelican recently added small ones to their line too.I have a number of the larger size Pelican cases and they are built like tanks !! Just got a Pelican flashlight [3330] that seems to be excellent.

mete, i have one of the pelican flashlights as well, along with one of the small pelican cases as well. you arent lying, they are strong as hell! otterbox claims they are the toughest in the world. perhaps they havent met pelican yet.;) i want to get some of the larger pelican cases. i look to get one for a few of my rifles, one for the CQC-T tomahawk I am looking to buy, and a smaller one to store my glocks in. something about edged tools and hard cases that go hand in hand:thumbup:

I have an otterbox as well as a pelican. I haven't done any testing, scientific or otherwise, but based just on looks and feel it seems to me that the pelican box will have better impact resistance than the otter.

However, pelican does not (or didn't, I'll have to check their new line) make a small box that comfortably fits my digital cam and accessories so for that I went with the otter.

The new Pelican small box line-- I got one for my multi meter - has various sizes ,you'll find one that fits your needs.

the new line of pelican small cases are great. i got one that i take to the beach with me every year and it holds my knife, wallet, flashlight, keys, and camera, perfectly!

otterbox looks to be cheaper than Pelican. but i might have to try them out.

I've got a small Pelican 1010 box.

I looked and handled both at the shop and decided on the Pelican. Seems tougher. And it has an automatic pressure valve, which is very important if you travel to different heights. I bought it specifically to store my mobile for when I go hiking.

Very tough and well made. Otterbox is good, but the Pelican is better. However it is more expensive too.

I just wish I would have found a black one, instead of yellow like mine. But this is New Zealand and I'm pretty lucky I found it at all. Can't be too picky when it comes to gear here in New Zealand.

Pelican is great, I'm very happy with it.
