Ouch...I felt that in my wallet

I'm sure most of us at this point have seen the knives Buck is releasing this year. The 110 TRX titanium, the 110 richlite, the 532 midlock etc. Am I the only one that had a little bit of sticker shock upon seeing the prices? I don't think I was the only one. For the TRX I saw several people guessing around $200 as the ballpark for it, and then it drops for more than double that. and similar for the other ones. I understand they are "limited edition" but still...they'll be made the entire year. it's not like a 1 of 20 or anything. The prices eclipse even the custom shop knives.

Hopefully I don't step on any toes, I'm just curious what buck is doing. It seems to me these prices contrast sharply with the honest hardworking customer base that Buck relies on. Is buck trying to move "up market" so to speak, or maybe I'm just missing something and these knives are all just very costly to produce?

Who knows maybe I will break down and end up buying one of these knives , but I for sure won't buy all of the them. In the mean time I'll just comfort myself with my old 301 and plain jane 112 sitting at my desk. 😂

We all have seen the price of everything escalate, Labor, benefits, materials, goods and services and of course fuel, among others. Eggs for example have jumped 4x what they were just a short time ago. I don't expect Buck to gouge us but special/limited editions probably don't have the profit margin that regular production and Buck does have to make a profit to stay in business.

I’ve yet to see the prices on the 532 or the 110 Barehead. These are two that I’m very interested in. Can someone direct me to those prices

That's partly what I'm confused about, These aren't anymore limited edition than the botm or a custom shop order, yet they're more than double the price.

110 richlite is 400 MSRP with a street price of $325.

532 has an MSRP of 425 with a street price of $350.

The 110 Ti might be a little too much for my blood. Was tempted to swap the blade with my 110 Sport to make a modernized 560.

Now seriously considering taking apart my black 560 and just going all out. Sandblasting, torx, and somehow source out one of the standoff pocket clips that use the rear bolsters screws.

Thank you

Unfortunately that is what similar knives from other companies are going for.
All things considered the prices are a little steep. You can buy titanium benchmades, ZT, etc for $250 or less, but as long as buck keeps their core knives accessible to the poor people like me, I suppose I'll be content, if a little disappointed 🤣 I'll just hope someone buys them and post pictures so I can live vicariously through them.

Yeah, the only time I've ever spent more than $170 for a knife was a wedding gift for my son. Oh, I also spent more than that one other time for a BCCI knife with elk scales. My limit is about $150 and that only if I can truly rationalize it. The knives I most often have with me are well under $100.

I collect Buck knives and have bought some knives over $200 but not a lot of them. Buck knives don't usually cost that much compared to some other makers. I really want a lot of the newly announced knives but we'll have to see if I ever get them.

Was looking forward to the 110 TRX Ti but yikes at $590 MSRP is a bit steep. I think I'll stick to my Sebenza for now
Cause the Sebenza is cheaper! (joking the street price for the 110 TRX Titanium is $25 lower in price than a sebenza)

Looks like my sebenza will be my beater and the buck my fancy knife...what a change haha 🤣
