I got the kershaw blur today, the one with the black handle and blade, serated, and its a nice knife, my first real knife, but under my nails, because ive opened it so much, hurt. Its pretty stiff, but I put on the pressure on the thumb studs, then the torsion bar (im pretty sure thats what it is) takes over, but now under my nails just hurts, and I really want to keep opening it and touching it, but ouchies . Anyone else that has had this knife had it be a bit stiff in the beginning, ive only had it for like 4 hours. Does this happen when you open knifes alot?

It is due to the shape of the thumb stud. The angle forces the skin connected to your nail to stretch a little every time you open it. The Storm II does the same thing due to the same thumb stud. Just stop playing with it for now. Play again tomorrow until it hurts then put it away. The next day it will probably not hurt at all, you will get used to it pretty quick. If you don't stop when it starts hurting it will take longer to get used to it.

yea I stopped, now im just looking at the handle. I believed that was the case, since the skin gets pulled a bit.

Use your nail, in a flicking motion.

then the nail gets pushed down and that hurts. I hear it loosens over time, so its just time.
