I just got out of the hospital late Friday. My knee had gone septic from a piece of dead bone left from the bone graft. Man that sucker hurt!
My old dog Mac hasn't been doing well for a while. Legs and hips have been going out for a wile now. Sometime late this morning Big Mac left this world.

Over the last 3 years I have had 10 surgery's to keep my leg after a bad Cycle accident. I was stuck in the house for near 2 1/2 years going through surgery after surgery, but I had my critters to keep my company. Valentines day last year I lost my little Spaniel That I had had for 16 years. Last month I lost My big fat tom cat that I called Fatboy, he was the most company I had through a long lay up. Today The big guy Mac went over.

I feel terrible that I cant even bury him my self. Its always been my way, But I had to ask help this time.

I am sorry to hear about these mounting problems. I know what it's like not to be able to get around, and losing even one pet is misery.

Man I feel the pain about the pets, Ive got one Im gonna have to put one down soon, my family will keep you in our prayers and hope to hear you up an running soon, take it easy and good luck on the recovery,Charlie

Damn Mike, I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling.
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger though, we had a rough stretch of life here too.
Just do the best you can and everything will eventually fall back into place.

Remember, you'll always have friends here that will listen & help out if need be.

Thanks for the kind words. I just needed to vent a bit. Mac was a stray I found. Every bone on his body was poking through his skin. I bought him a burger and he swallowed it like a pill, so I named him Big Mac. Fatboy the cat was another stray I took in. He was a typical stray-cat and spooked from everything. Fatboy was a bad-ass cat, had fighting scars on his head, notches in his ears, and missing one fang from fighting. Mac thought cats were for eating when I first found him. Mac was a big boned dog. He was 30" tall at the shoulder, and when My wife and I got him healthy He weighted in at 140 lbs. So heres a picture of two mortal enemy's brought together after they were given good food, allot of attention, a firm hand, a safe place to stay, and of course a lot of love.

This is a good place to vent.

Fair number of old farts around who will understand.

Smoke and prayers going up for you and for your pets from Virginia.

Fatboy reminds me of a cat that showed up at my old place shortly after we got it. He was all tore up and the recent wounds were on top of scars. Wouldn't let me near him, but, I put out some food. He hung around and healed up, then was gone to show back up all tore up again. More food. Eventually, he let me pet him and got to trust me. He was about blind, and his face a mass of scars. He would hang around for a while then off to fight. Then back to recover. He was a orange and we called him Punkin. Finally he came back really tore up and didn't make it. I had thought about having him fixed, but, it was his life and I let him live it his way. I was his friend, not his owner and gave him a refuge. I made a difference in his life.

You did the same and they rewarded you with friendship. Dogs and cats don't live long. It doesn't take them as long to learn how to love and believe in someone as it does humans. None will replace Fat boy and Big Mac, but there are other strays out there roaming around who would give a guy like you their hearts for some kindness. I hope that one finds you and helps you with your inner peace, the most valuable thing anyone can have.

I feel for you, brother. I had to put down my dog and my sister's cat (that was staying with us) the same day. Cancer ate him down to nothing in a couple weeks. He was 9yrs old. The cat was 17yrs old, so we were expecting that one.... just not the same day!

I hope you heal up for good this time around. Take it kneasy, er.. I mean easy
Rick
