Over in the Collectors forum they informed me that former Camillus employee and Historian Tom Williams, aka CAMCO, has passed away. I am certain lots of the old Buck contract knives are sad about his passing. He was a wealth of knowledge on all the old Camillus 300 series contract knives and all things Camillus. He ventured over to us several times to inform us of Buck/Camillus historical facts. Rest in peace friend.

Prayers for the family. I hate that we loose so much knowledge with each passing of old friends. Rest in peace Camco.

Sorry to hear that Tom has passed. I am on the Camillus area a lot and have emailed Tom in the past.

Another link with the American knifemaking past has gone.

(And on a personal note: he replaced a snapped backspring on a 1969 Camillus "demo" knife of mine a couple years ago. Given its rebirth thanks to him, I was already thinking of it as "Tom's knife" — that association is now cemented for sure)

Very sad news.

Thanks for this post 300! Sorry to hear that and prayers sent to friends and family! The first knives I started buying for myself were Bucks and Camillus although they were the Rem. pattern models of which I still have a few.

Like many others, I benefited from Tom's knowledge of Camillus products, may he RIP. OH
