Our first Bussekin......

Picture of my daughter and I with our first Bussekin. I got her a SY Mud Puppy. I have my SY511. Together we constructed her first lean-to, which is pictured behind us. The 511 chopped down all the branches needed, and slpit our firewood and is still shaving hair. Well done SY.

"Playing" with knives is a great way to spend time with the young'ins.
 
Absolutely. Got her a firesteel and she is making her own match-free fires as well. She's my buddy....
 
Awesome man! When I have kids one day I hope they take a liking to this stuff as much as I see others do.

Very cool. Some valuable skills being learned there, not to mention great father daughter bonding. You must be very proud :)
 
I am more proud than I can ever describe. I have been a knife maker,soldier, and teacher, and I have seen alot in my 32 years, but nothing has prepared me for the things I am to encounter as she grows. Luckily she has quite a good head on her shoulders. I will do all I can, with the help of some quality,"if not futuristic" steel in her most ready hands, to be prepared for all that comes. I pity the fool that comes calling for her at this home of ours, her with the blades she will weild and I, savy as I am, with the blades and guns I have, the fool who comes calling for her............. fool indeed.....
