We were able to fit in short visit with Auntie, while we were in South Lake Tahoe. Reno is just a short 1 hr and 15 min away. Dino and his wife, Tam, her brother, Dave,; auntie and her sisters, with Randy; Betty; and my family. We had a grand time, I was ecstatic to see Dino and Tam, they've been through so much lately, and more in the near future, I wish them best, and smoke and prayers and ongoing from me, and I am sure for the rest of the HI family. Of course, auntie and her sisters, made appetizers, and a full course meal, with momo! Almost couldn't fit back into the vehicle for the ride back to Tahoe...lol Here's some pics of our visit.

Wow! Glad yall all had a great time. Sure looks like one big happy well fed family! Them momo's sure look good. They kinda remind me of pot stickers? Thanks Aunti Yangdu for takin such good care of my friends! I do have one question. Are deviled eggs Nepali?

Hi George!

One of these days, hopefully someday soon we need to arrange a kukri convention.
We've talked about it and everybody wants to do it. Trying to pick a date that works for the most people is tough. But we just need to do it and everybody make it work.
My wife chatted with Yangdu and she's ready to help put it together so just need to make it happen.

Doesn't look like we'll make Reno this year but hopefully next year so I can get my Yangdu and sisters visit. Visiting them and the Rodeo make the 13 hour drive worth every minute.

Meister Tall, if we pull it off I can pick you and yours up on the way through, your right on the way.

Actually Shavru is practically neighbors, I can get you and yours as well. Might have to put more seats in the van, maybe a bigger van. It's near time for a newer one anyhow.

When I think momo I think won ton soup without the soup. They are really good.
I suspect they are way time consuming to make. Each one kind of hand made and stuffed with beef or chicken or I don't know what all. I do know they are really good and of course the ladies won't stop bringing them.
I was so proud last visit I actually got them to sit down for a little bit. Usually on the go waiting on us like royalty, something we're certainly not worthy of.

I guess anything they make , become Nepali food, because the deviled eggs and chow mein was oh soo good. The momo reminds us of steamed potstickers, but the wrapper is more similar to the type of wonton, and the filling is a bit leaner than a regular potsticker, a very nice combination indeed, my daughter loved them. She wanted more, but she was so full from the appetizers...lol

Yes, we must get a khonvention planned, that would be great fun. Hey, Mr B, wish the missus luck on her new job from us! Congrats!

The highlight of this visit was seeing Dino and Tam though, they look great, are in high spirits, and just super fun people to be around. Dino takes Tam to UCSF in SF often, we'll hook up the next time they're down here, and meet up for dinner or something. We're so looking forward to it.

We had a Wonderful time! The thing that made so is that it was friends, and fun. Heh! Richard and I got into a "do you remember" about San Francisco in the 60's and 70s...
His family is wonderful.
The food was wonderful, the conversations flowed (as did a bit of wine), and it was a chance to relax.
That has been a bit hard to do of late...

When told Tam about it she did not miss a beat in saying "I'm going" :-)
Richard, we will call you a few days before our next trip.

Yangdu, like always, thank you and your family for your amazing hospitality and personal concern for us. Her brother David had a great time! Tam has her ribbon next to her right now. :-)

Dino

Cul, it sounds like your visit was absolutely great and I, like Bawanna, are a teensy bit envious of you this year. The posted photos were enjoyed immensely. Thank you.
