Recently Jeremy and I went on a little vacation. We took 5 days off and drove North east to Jasper beach and Acadia National Park. I have never been to either of these places so I was excited to go since I have been wanting to visit this area for a while.
We drove about 4 hours to Joansboro and spent the night. in the morning we went to Machiasport to check out Jasper beach. This beach is all rock and very little sand. Supposedly the only other beach like this in the world is in Japan. I love Jasper so I brought a bag and brought home a lot of rocks!

Is this one of the Rocks from Temple of Doom??

Jeremy showed me this rock and popped the question!

Of course I said yes!....I always told him when the time came, I wanted Maine mined Green Tourmaline- not a diamond...well, he was listening! & I got both. =)

Soon after we found this rock.

Some more shots of Jasper beach.

Mr. Crab

Becker playing in the ocean.

After we left the beach we drove about two hours to Acadia National Park. We found a place to sleep that rented these awesome little cabins.

Jeremy working on getting a fire going. He actually got to spread the word of Becker knives when he helped a guy at a near by cabin split his wood for a campfire with his BK-2. The guy was shocked he got the work done with a knife and asked if it was a Gerber. Jeremy smiled and said "No, it is made by Kabar and designed by Ethan Becker of Becker Knife and Tool".

Becker and Jeremy sleeping in.

We got our act together and checked out some of the sights around the island.
Sandy beach.

Thunder hole.

Cadillac Mountain.

There was a native garden place with samples of plant life on the island.
Pitcher Plants..One of my Native favorites

And SUNDEWS!! Another favorite of mine..

Jeremy built this birch bark wigwam w/nothin' but his Becker & Bare hands......lol JK
But it is wicked cool!

Some fishing boats on the bay.

We had a great time and we are planning on heading back to do a lot of the hikes on the island.
