Our trip this late Summer....

Trying to find operating military bases from central Florida to Mt. Rushmore ,Yellowstone & on down to the Grand Canyon .

Ft. Polk La. would be ideal. We can stay on any military post for $25.00 per night [space available ] & I'm trying to plan our driving [ appx.600m per day] i
to be near a base. I need this info so I can schedule our stops at a base.Possibly eat in mess-halls too paying per-diem rates.

Any base North & West from La. within driving range would help & then beyond on to the Black Hills ,Rushmore & on.

No huge rush but procrastinaton is not for me.

Any help appreciated.

I know that there is Ellsworth Airforce Base near Rapid City, SD. So, you would be 30 mins or so from Mt. Rushmore. (Iused to live in Rapid City, SD. Let me know if I can help you with anything else there.) It is either just in or just outside Rapid City. I hope this helps.
