I pulled up late in the day, already afternoon, so not much time for foolin'. But I have been Jonesin' to make tracks up the hill, so I did.

Good bit of PT, 1400 foot up, then 1400 foot back down to the truck in 4 hours.
That'll do.

It will take a full day for a summit bid,

There was lots of skiers out, probably snowboarders also. I don't ski, mostly I just slip, then fall on my butt and slide. It's kinda similar.

I reached the top late yesterday, around 2:30 pm. Funny how flat the trail looks on a map, it ain't.

I have only a passing fascination with local climbing.

Just days after my outing, three renowned climbers met their fate on a route called M16 to the summit of Howse Peak in Canada, evidently on the descent.
An avalanche claimed these young men far too early in life.

Mt. Baldy isn't far from where I live. Your videos make me think I definitely need to try some of the hikes there. I haven't been up there since I stopped skiing in the early 1990s.
