I can't remember when it last stopped raining, to give you an idea of how much we have had this was at Christmas ( Note the height of water under the bridge )~

And this was today~

As I continued my hike I hoped the bridge wouldn't get washed away before my return !

Some pics of my Woody~

I love the simplicity of this design, the blade shape is kinda Kephart-ish but larger. The handle is a real user, the kinda handle you could use all day without getting any hotspots~

The knife is large enough that you can choke right back on the handle and use the blade for snap cuts~

Did a little battoning~

And a little Fuzzy making~

I hope you do well on your trip to one(2) knife for the 6 months. So far, it looks pretty good. I am just waiting until you want to grab that other knife that you feel is neglected ;)

Hi all,

Pitdog, you were not kidding when you said the rains have been comming to your area lol.
I love the pics of your area, I love seeing a knife I made in that are too lol It is that way for every knife maker though.
I am glad you are getting to use your knife and to see what you think of your design. It is fun to draw up a design and then get it made and see how it works. Most if not all knives will work at cutting but it really is neat to try out different handle and blade lengths and different thickness and shapes of the steel and handles.

It really gives a person a feel for what they like and do not like.

Take care and have fun with your Woody knife.

I always enjoy looking at your pictures Pit, I used to live in Oregon and your pictures always remind me of that wet northwest jungle. It's the complete opposite here in Vermont but I love them both the same for different reasons.

I struggled with whether or not to look at such a dodgy titled thread!

Glad I did though.

The knife looks great. I wonder what you mean with regards to 'thinking so much' though??
Do you mean it's that it's a reasonably basic design? I think that is the beauty of it, and probably will be fundamental to it serving its term so well....but I guess you guys know that already.

With regards to the rain, that's no surprise. It's fair bouncing it down here in the north of England.
I like it. Maybe at the weekend I'll get chance to see in the new year with a woods walk and to check my local waterways.

Not so sure about how that bridge is gonna hold up though bud. Duck boards spring to mind!

Watch your step and stay...err...dry...ish?!

Great pics and a great knife! That first pic looked just like my favorite backpacking place: the Elwha River in the Olympic National Park. Great camping and fishing and always a challenge. I'll be going up this summer to do some of that.

I dig that knife design. Basic, function and comfort are all there
