out of curiousity, how many threadlock pivots?

I use teflon tape on the pivot. It's not permanent and can be remove or reapplied easily and works just as well. If I didn't do this then the screws loosen too easily, especially on my Benchmade 710 and Griptilian. The blade would be wobbly after 20 openings.

I'll occasionally put a small drop of clear nail polish in a pivot on re-assembly, if needed. It's somewhat permanent, and the pivot can still be disassembled fairly easily.

thx - cpr

I use red loctite 271, never have any problems even when it comes to taking it apart again.

I always use a dab of blue loc-tite when I take mine completely down.
No problems in between maintenance/cleanings.

If I disassemble to clean a foldr throughly then I usually use blue thread locker on the pivot. I figure since its already apart, might as well do it while I can and I adjust it while its still drying.

I use blue loctite on any screw on my users. The ones i occassionally use or the safequeens stay without it. But when i'm on the go or in the woods the last thing i want to have to do is tighten something up.

The pivot screw on a properly designed and manufactured knife should not loosen with use - the only knife I've had problems with was a very cheap M in C Boker knockoff - I so see no need to loctite or teflon tape any of my quality folders but can't see any harm in the precaution

If I were going to venture into the wilderness for an extended period (hiking the AT for instance) then I might take that precaution. For normal users I don't bother because I'm always fiddling with them anyway and I figure I can always just tighten it when I'm touching up the edge.
