After weeks of watching BF discussion from the wings I've taken the plunge and registered, so hello everybody :-)!!!
After using a SS Police at work for the past 6 years I decided Spyderco were on to a good thing and decided to start collecting them. So, in the last few weeks I've accumulated (stand back):
- a fullsize Calypso
- an "R"
- a C22
- a C27
- a Shabaria
- a white Jess Horn
- a burgundy Jess Horn
- a JD Smith
- a Zowada
- a Lum
I'm broke but very happy and look forward to boring you all with my pearls of wisdom eg bestknives have C27s,
cheers,
Ferret.

Welcome to the forum, I am a Newbie(on the forum) myself and have enjoyed it immensely.

Welcome to the forums! Ferret, looks like you' ve really taken the plunge, with the "higher ends". Broke? You' ll be bankrupt!

You might want to get yourself a Jot Singh Khalsa while they are still around. It is a very unique "high-end" Spyderco that has a look unlike any of the others. Enjoy the bug, I'm up to 32 in my first year.

Thanks for the warm welcome all.
Wanna know what's really weird? I've been in contact with another BF member here in Sydney and we're planning our own Spyderthon!!! Spyders everywhere!! This is getting way out of hand!!
Thanks also for the links (temptation at every turn).

Howdy Ferret-
The Spyderco addiction will only get worse. Make peace with the idea as soon as possible- it makes parting with the cash less painful.
Lots of Aussies around- Congrats on the World Cup fellahs!

Congratulations on your new acquisitions, Ferret. BTW, how did you get your hands on a Lum?

Im a firm believer in not ownging things you dont use. So I hope you will find unique uses for all those knives instead of letting them rot in some case.

Welcome Aboard, Ferret!
Once the Spyder bites, there is no hope. The only temporary cure is to buy another Spyderco product.

My latest acquisition is the G-10 Police model. I LOVE it! Now I'm set for a couple of more weeks.
Sal, time to bring out more stuff. LH Starmate or Military are good places to start!

Those good folks at knifecentre part the discerning and their cash with just a few clicks of a mouse.

...and there's a flipside to that coin - "I hope you're not using your highend Spydies for routine cutting tasks"! Somewhere between the 2 extremes is the case.

Welcome Ferret,

What's your impression of the JD Smith? I've been interested in that model since I got a Calypso jr in micarta but haven't seen (except for pictures on the net) or held one yet. Nice collection, you sure started out right!
