FFBM, SJ TAC, and FSH. Which would you recommend for someone who just wants one "do it all" Busse that can still be belt carried. I'm leaning toward the discontinued FSH. What would you suggest?

Thanks.

Buy one of each, see what fits you hand and needs better, and resell the other two.

Or just keep all three :-)

It would be between the FFBM and the FSH for me. The SJ TAC is too small to do any decent chopping.

If it was me I would get a FFBM and partner it with a small blade or even a folder for small tasks.

I would go with the FSH or the slightly smaller NMSFNO as a do-it-all blade. Pair it with an AD and you are good to go for 95% of your knife tasks.

If chopping is a big deal, the FSH, if you want an actual all-rounder, not just something that can chop and be carried, the SJTAC is a much better choice.

FSH is the best busse design for a do it all type blade there is............

Definitely the FSH...or any other Steel Heart for that matter: HH, HOGFSH, ASH. They're all great knives!

SJTAC, cause the other ones are pretty big, especially if you are going to carry it around a lot...

For me there is a difference between "can" and "will". The FSH is definitely in the "can" category but it is on the edge and some may find it too big for convenient carry.

I think that the SJTAC is too light/thin to be an effective chopper and I view it as more of a fighter/utility knife. You should also consider the SFNOLE as a chop-capable mid-weight champ.

Yes, I agree.

The Sarsquatch is also a very well rounded blade.

Of the three you listed... FSH.

Well, if we didn't have to pick out of three, I would say go with a Hell Razor or Jack Hammer... I think it is the busse of choice for those in the military deployed overseas...

One more vote for the FSH, especially if you can get the Heavy Heart!

Thin the edge a little and convex it. It'll slice like a razor and chop like...err...a chainsaw :D

Choking up with the choil makes it usable for stuff like small fuzz sticks, but I prefer the method of propping a stick between the ground and my knees, holding the knife at both ends and pushing downwards, away from the knees, cutting nice curls of wood that way.

Of the three listed, the FSH is the best all-arounder. The thinner the better.

But you know what you will end up doing anyway. You'll get the FSH and realize you want something bigger for serious chopping, and something smaller for more control. So, you'll end up with either a FFBM or NMFBM and a 3.5 to 5" carry anyway. May as well save the time and just go with the two blade option from the get-go. Or, like most people here, the 5, 10, 20, or 50 blade option.

The HH is a great knife for all-around use. Too bad the Fusion handle just doesn't work for me.
