I went hiking today with fellow forum member Satsumatengu, we began the hike by going through a tunnel under the highway..........anyone pack a Maglite !

We continued the hike and came across this little fella, he had been warming in the sun for quite some time so was super quick ~

Here is a little SHTF trivia for everyone today. These gold mines that Pitdog and I found today date from the 1863-64 Goldrush here on Vancouver Island, a little research will tell you that gold was worth $17.00 per ounce at that time, think about what it is worth today and see how far the dollar has fallen.

I love the tracks, tunnels and mine. Fun stuff! Even on a day hike I always have my Mini Mag in my pack. I like looking around in caves and rock crevices that I find, plus on evening hikes I sometimes head back as it's getting dark.

Thanks for the pics! On a related note, way back when I was in college, I had a pet 3' gator. I named her Chopper after the junk yard dog in Stand By Me. Whenever I had people over, I'd always tell 'er to Sick Balls! People never visited me very long...
