Most of us have several different knives to choose from when we go off on our adventures and I'm sure most of you, like me ,keep changing your minds about which is your favourite !
Anyway what I'm trying to get to is that I keep coming back to my JK Hiker, this knife might not chop as well as some of my larger blades or perform bushcraft type stuff as well as some of my others but as soon as I hold this knife it feels like an old friend, one that would never let me down that is !!!!

Here it is next to a deer track I found, check out how small the Vancouver Island deer are....real tiny eh !

I let Maisy choose which trail we should take.....

The other knife I took was a little bushcraft type blade from ML knives, this is the first knife I have made a handle for. I have to mention this....when I decided to make a handle I had John's and Brian Andrews handles in mind, hell how hard can it be ? All I have to say is that I have loads more respect for these two guys now, I realise they both have power tools and I don't but even so I'm totally humbled !!!! Mine is functional though and feels great so I still love it !!!!!

I stopped to check out the new golf course they are building near the park, if ya look closely you can see a deer on there already. I wish they had made it an extension of the park instead of a golf course but oh well !!!

Not sure what the Tiny Terror was laughing at on this pic but she obviously found something funny !!!!

Great! You have a nice new golf course nearby. Another reason I need to visit!
Great pics as always.

Good to see this one again.

I just find it to be a great all rounder John, like I said it might not be the greatest chopper but can definitely get through medium sized stuff with no problem and it might not carve as well as a dedicated bushcraft blade but will certainly get you by.......If I was heading off into the wilds with only one blade this would definitely be high on my list !!!!
