Just a few pics from this morning.

First stop was the swamp where I found one of the resident Mallards...

Came across this plant, anyone know what it is ? It looks like Twisted stalk but I'm not sure, it reminded me of the Garlic family but there was no smell even when crushed.

Haven't seen that knife in a long while. And the TT looks to be having a great day.

Thanks for sharing Pit.

Looks like Twisted-stalk (Streptopus) to me as well (not sure of the species). You can see some in this picture I posted in my 'Back off, pitdog' thread.

I'm going to have to say False Solomon Seal in pit's pic

Hey mt,

Why do you think pit's is False Solomon's Seal? From everything I've seen, until they're in flower, there isn't much difference, but I'm ready to learn. In your picture, it look like the leaves are (very) short-stemmed, but in pit's they look like they're clasping the stem. Thoughts?

in pit's pic they are starting to flower- multiple terminal flowers, twisted stalk has single (sometimes double) flowers associated with each leaf

I've been known to be wrong before, so nothing new there if I am :D
