I was wearing my favorite winter clothing, my Buffalo Speacial 6 shirt. In my opinion these are the best clothing you can get for cold, wet conditions. They are popular with Ray Mears and his crew. Check them out at www.buffalosystems.co.uk

Even the girls had their coats on today...

Neat Pit, I think those crusader cup/canteen deals are really good. I had already went with the GSI-cup/nalgene before I saw these, but I like them also. I really like the crusader cooker that bundles with the cup and canteen also. There is that CDN distributor that sells the cookers separately.

I just might pull for the whole set up one of these days. There is just something a little more nostalgic about a canteen, especially with the yuppyification of water bottles these days.

awesomw setup Pitdog! The Gi cups and nato bottles are really catching on here in BC. I bought a second cup and drilled holes in it for an esbit burner. Will tak pics with the GF's cam later.

Love the herons.

Great piece of gear. I need to pick up one of the stoves that nestles around the bottom of the cup. The esbit stove works really well with these, but you can't use the same variety of fuel.

Also, I love the pictures. I always look forward to your threads.

Why is the cup so clean  Mine is all black on me, and it won't come off :o

Oh well, cool pics, Pit

What is the price range of those Buffalo jackets? They look well made from what I can see.

Hi Pit
Anyway u can take a pic of your entire setup from a front view. Id love to c what the entire set up looks like.
Thanks

Not to be a party pooper but, isn't that exactly the same as a GI canteen and cup, or am I missing something?

HEHE, it's funny after the Nalgene/Guyot craze, that the good ol' canteen seems to be making a comeback.

BTW, you asked about the pouch, looks like a standard ALICE-era canteen carrier. Does it attach with the metal ALICE clips, or use a MOLLE style attachment?

One other question I had on the Proteus: how does the belt hold up with weight attached? Does it sag witha full canteen and knife on it, or does it stay fairly rigid?

That looks like the GI canteen and cup to me, too. I have one the same colour. The Crusader canteen and cup are a different shape and in black (I don't have one, so I could be wrong).
