Just recieved my new leather pouch from Mark Wohlwend and I have to say I'm very impressed, this is exactly what I had in mind when I first mentioned it to him. It is designed to take an Altoids tin but I found that by using using a slightly smaller tin it gives me enough room to add a standard SAK or large Bic lighter etc. Still trying to decide on exactly what the contents will be !

In my tin at present I have some storm proof matches wrapped in waxed paper, brass snare wire, a few fish hooks and weights, some jute, some other nylon cordage, fatwood and a few other bits that slip my mind right now !

I had been looking through my knife drawer yesterday and realised that I hadn't taken my Dave Farmer Camp knife out for a while and so figured I'd take it today. This is actually my go to camp knife as it excels at cutting up camp food stuff and yet is still sturdy enough to split kindling for the camp fire etc....

I made a few curls to take a spark....

The square spine of this knife throws sparks from a ferro-rod better than any of the dedicated strikers I have, a few strikes and we have fire...

With my knife back in it's sheath it was time for me to have a coffee and Maisy to have a treat or two !
