After tons of use...my A1 is my absolute favorite! It does everything quite well! I no longer have the RC5, for it did not chop well, was heavy, and couldnt cut fine bushcraft well compared to the others. All the Fallknivens curve wood very well, I believe this is due to the grind. And Chopping was very good on the A1 topped the RC6 easily. If I had to only have two knives the A1 and the F1 would be my top picks. I like the junglas alot but due to its size it is limited in its application as well as big to carry and heavy! But still a very good chopper. The Handle does slip on the Junglas during very vigorous chopping. it does not support the butt of the hand well. I will add more later. I did some really nice side by sides comparisons.

Is that a silver S1 next to the Izula in the chopping block? If so, how do you like that knife? Also, what is your preferred method for sharpening the Fallknivens?
Thanks

The S1 is above the Izula, the F1 is to the left. Mouse pad is the easy method. It is extremely cheap as well. I am yet to have to sharpen the Fallknivens. Even the A1 is sharp and it has been beat on! If you notice my handle is a little abused too! Only download fall of the Fallknivens, their handles are not as tough but I like the comfort much better! Oh and they are extremely grippy!

whats the middle knife in the second to last picture

Middle knife is an Ontario SP5. decent knife but the edge from the factory was average at best. I still like it and it has been completely abused too! I baton a piece of Oak that was dry for at least one season. It was about 6" and during batonning I believe I hit a knot...it twisted the blade inside the log...I kept going. It eventually got it but watching this blade deform was pretty wild considering it didnt break nor bend when it was through! I was impressed. I have a Kabar heavy that has also been beat as well. it has a bigger handle (doesnt fit my hand as well) and and better edge. If the handle was smaller I would take the Kabar over the Sp5 all day long!

i have the kabar heavy bowie (i assume thats the one you mean) and i love it great blade!

To OP - I've always been interested in ESEE but prefer Fallkniven of which I have two: F1 and A1.

Which do you prefer to take with you when you're out and about?

Out of all the blades I have/had, the A1 is my go to all-arounder. The F1 is my second. I like my ESEE but I love my Fallknivens! They perform at a higher level then many of the ESEE I have, junglas is a different story but it only does a few things better and lack heavily in others. These 2 fallknivens distance themselves substantially to all the other blades I have used to date. One note, I have a Bark River Bravo 1 yet still heavily prefer my Fallknivens. The handle even after some basic stripping of the wax is still slick but is better than the ESEE handles. They are really tough handles (the Fallknivens arent nearly as tough but far more comfortable and tacky). Also...thumb rampp...hate it! I know you can get it removed or could have ordered it without (I am yet to find one to order). The Bravo 1 is one of the toughest knives I own. But the sheath absolutely sucks. Once again the Fallknivens have just seemed to perform to my liking more than any other blade I own. Let me add this, had I known what I know now, I would have saved a ton of money and simply ordered a few Fallknivens and been done with it. You can only use one at a time!

Good to hear about ESEE and fallkniven. I've always been interested because so many people think they are the bees knees but after Fallkniven and Bark River (Bravo1 and Aurora) I thought I might be a little disappointed.

By the way, ditch the crappy Kydex sheath for the Bravo and get the leather one.... MUCH better.

I used to think the Bravo was the toughest knife I had too until Noss did a test on one. Now I'm not so sure.

Has Noss posted the results yet?

Just got done watching...wow...what poor edge retention not to mention chipping and rolling! What a disappointment. Once again this just make me feel even better about the Fallknivens!
