Santa was very, very good to me!! I'm feeling good about the new year.

While technically not a Christmas present, I'm just as grateful. A week ago I picked up this Wilton Square Wheel from Peter Wile who is in the process of exiting the knife making biz and is getting rid of a lot of his equipment. In two weeks I'll also be picking up his Evenheat KO 18, his home made etching/anodizing machine, and a few hand tools.

I also picked up a 15" scroll saw from a neighbor for the low, low price of FREE!

For one grand, I think I did alright on this grinder deal, especially considering the 20-some-odd belts he gave me. I'll be rewiring this from 120 to 220, and I already have a larger work rest and re-designed platen being made for it.

After working on a 1 x 30 for the past six years, my overwhelming feeling at the moment is: Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

Set up and waiting for electricity:

Ooooooooooooh, Blue...... you is gonna like that!

Did Peter have an anvil.... or do you just not care about me anymore?

Rick

The latter..........

Well, no. Rick, actually he doesn't forge. Everything he does is all stock removal and electric kiln. He only has a few hand tools and a lapidary grinder available.

Nice Blue! To think you made all those lovely knives you've shared on a 1"x30"!
I love seeing people get nice tools! Happy Holidays!

Blue, if I had known that Peter was getting out, I might have gotten there before you. Unfortunately my Wile friends don't talk to half their family. Anything left over that you don't want to drag all the way to CB?

Tattoo - Peter still has that lapidary machine and a few odds and ends.... top of the line stuff.

Are you related to the Wile's of Wile's Farm Stand fame?

Not me, guys I grew up with are Wiles from Wile settlement in Windsor. Do you know how much he wants for the lap?

$100.00 I believe.

Its well used, but in great shape. He takes/took good care of his equipment.
