After 3 hours of an outage affecting regional access, it's been tracked down to a corrupted ARP cache on our upstream provider. Once that was rebuilt, the site came back up.

We're still working on trying to find the issues causing persistent lags, however this may be related.

Thank-ye captain.

Ye're a right good pirate captain.

Thanks Spark - could this be related to a problem I had today loading pics? Pics that I have loaded before without a problem (and then removed) I tried to reload as attachments to "for sale" posts but I kept getting told that they were not valid image files. ?????????????

Spark, we all appreciate you taking time to inform us of what's been happening. Thanks for that update.

Crossing fingers, but I haven't had a delay since your post.

There is a crazy amount of double-posts happening. This is somehow due to the hanging?

Thanks,

Coop

I've had 4 lagging clicks that go "dead" in the last 15 minutes.
All stating "no connection", like the server is down.
I close the tab, wait a minute or 2 and then re-open BF.
I look around a bit and then it starts lagging all over again. Just hanging.
Hopefully it'll get cleared up.

Was just cursing because I thought I'd lost a longish post to lags.

Fortunately, it went through though it didn't initially register as posted.

My fingers crossed too.

Just had some problems in posting and earlier logging in over here in Scandinavia.

Still lagging and hanging.
I just waited 6 minutes after hitting 'reply' before anything happened.
I went back to edit a word I left out and it never would do anything.
I closed the browser, opened back up. Clicked on BF "Connection Interrupted"
Refreshed a couple of times before it came back up. Came straight to S&S before it happened again.

Yeah, nastygram sent. I'm about to pull the plug on these people. 10 months is enough patience and I'm done with their excuses

Spark, 10 months is more than enough time. Please, DO pull the proverbial plug on these folks. The lags and outages are horrendous and unnecessary.

I don't think it's fixed yet...I tried to log into BF last night [Wed 08/12/09] at ~5:00PM ET and kept timing out with no connection...I was able to get in later and post/read...but this browser timing out because no connection is becoming the trend rather than the exception...BTW: Other Forums (ARFCOM, LugerForums) connected right away... :(

just to make sure i dont loose a post i put it on wordpad first then copy and paste. that way i wont loose what i typed.

Normally its not too bad starting early in the AM, before the after work crowd come on, but its been ridiculously slow all day. Minutes for a page to load. 1605 EST.
