In my reading today I found one reference to Outdoor Edge Magna and one to Outdoor Edge Paragee.

I did a Google Search and found these knives.

That Paragee sounds good, frame lock, AUS8 steel, and a really sweet shape.

I had in mind as my next purchase a Gerber Harsey Air Ranger in the same price range (and I really liked the serrated one I sampled!).

Who has and can offer comment on a Paragee?

It looks like another poormans Sebby to me......

The Paragee is a really nicely made knife. I have had and given it and the Air Ranger. Between the small Air Ranger and the Pargee, I would choose the Paragee. (Throw the Camillus EDC in the mix and I would choose the EDC!) The Large Air Ranger is truly a great knife due to the addition of the LAWKS safety . . . however, I would generally choose a framelock first. You cannot go wrong with either one though!:D :D

What location of origin was your Paragee Jason? And it was actually a Frame Lock? It really does look like a sweet knife...

I know the ARs are Taiwanese, but the one I checked out at Wallyworld was only left there because of the serrations!!! I'm a plain blade kind of guy.

As an aside to another post. I got into knives hard just lately (and I'm 42). I don't have and it seriously looks like I won't have a kid. But I'm sure going to see to it that my buddies kids know what it is to be pro-knife and pro-gun!

The paragee is a production version of the Darrel Ralph apogee. This knife is a frame lock, and was the actual predecisor of the EDC. I have been thinking about getting one for awhile, just never gotten around to it.

I think the Paragees are Tiawanese . . . they are all framelocks. The production versions of Darrels designs were both introduced at about the same time. The EDC became widely available first and seems to be far more popular.
(The Air Rangers are pretty underrated IMHO.)

Have had a Paragee for a while; not bad but not my favorite by any means. Needed some tweaking to tighten it up, and had to add a washer when I took the clip off (leaving the pivot pieces intact so the clip could go back on if I so chose). Easy to sharpen, comparatively speaking; comfortable grip considering its small/thin size, and I like the blade shape a little better than the Camillus EDC (heresy, I know :-), which I also have one of. Haven't tried a Vapor yet for comparison's sake. The Paragee frame lock seems a little too easy to release for my comfort zone, unlike the EDC which is actually a little stiff. Probably could tweak either by taking them apart and bending or unbending the lock bar just a bit. Anyhow, IMHO a good deal for the money. Just a little small for my hands.
