HAs anyone bought/used the small version of these knives? I bought a large one, thought it was very well made, and then gave it to a friend in need. Now I'm thinking anbout getting a small one for EDC rotation. Any comments?

A friend of mine got himself one. It has got a really good grip, opens easily, tight tolerances. Good steel. But. The blade is WAY too thick for its relatively slender with and low grind. It is not easy to get a good edge on the small Impulse without spending a lot of time on narrowing the thick edge. This means grinding away quite some amounts of steel from the blade. And that will not leave the blade very attractive, I'm afraid.

aha! Thanks for the tip. I was thinking of removing the blade coating anyway, so making the bevels more acute won't look as bad that way. Anyone else? C'mon, 17,000 members, at least ONE of us must have bought this knife!

Thanks, FF

Had one, it is a good knife, but I sold it to a fellow forumite. It is comfortable, cuts well, a touch too heavy for its size, I like the rubber/kraton in handles, clip was good, I'm not a big fan of recurved blade, I know theoretically they cut better, but nothing seems to outcut my (Webb and Fisher) Wharncliffe. Overall, I'd say it is a winner, just not my cup of tea.
