I was trying to find a good pair of gloves for outdoors use and I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on a good pair to go with. I'd like something not too thick that I loose all my dexterity but also that won't get snagged and ripped up too quick in the brush. Some degree of heat resistance would be good too.

I went around to a couple stores today but most things I tried felt either too bulky or were uncomfortable because of the seams at the tips of the fingers. I've got XL size hands but I don't have very thick fingers so maybe that's why I was having so much trouble finding anything. thanks for any advice you can give

I used to use some old handball gloves with good results. I think they were pigskin, and pretty thin, but tough. Could do almost anything in them just as good as "naked fingers". THey sorta mould to fit as they age. they provided no warmth tho-I would check out the newer "mechanics" type at a big box. Good Luck

I'm not much of a glove guy, well except for cycling in the winter ;)

But I have used them for car work, tree removals, and various other things wih marginal success... OK I hate gloves- just remember the more protection and durability the glove offers, the less dexterity. I second the recommendation for the mechanix-style gloves, there are some really good ones out there now for not much money, just be picky.

yeah i was looking more toward that thing i just wasnt sure how well synthetic type material would hold up in the woods compared to leather though i think most of them at least have leather parts on palm side.
