Yeah, a thread was posted on these when they hit the market. Outdoor Life is one of the brands owned by United Cutlery. Manufactured by Arrowhead, their U.S. manufacturing division. Ebay still has sharpfingers for about that same price though.

Is the Ka bar version of the sharpfinger made in the USA? I liked that design.

Looks like it whould be hard to rehandle I may buy an outdoor life model just to experiment on........Bigfish

I thought camillus made the rigid and outdoor life USA brands for United?

No, Camillus makes their own version, the Gran'Pa GP152. United now has four or five versions, I believe, including Rigid, Outdoor Life, and one with the Harley trademark. Then Bear and Son, and...and.. well, several U.S. manufacturers are making them. I can't blame them really, and most are doing a good job with copies and variants based on the Sharpfinger.

I have the GP152 it aint a Schrade but it'll do! I have a rigid lockback model r73 it has rigid stamped on the blade in fancy lettering and on the other side of the blade it has 440A stainless made in USA r73. This knife is absolute custom quality everything is perfect it is a Kit Rae design and i always thought camillus made it do you know who made this model for united?

Probably late in getting in on this thread, but thought I'd "add-to" anyway..

I have one of these and must concur with sdt11670.. Also, note that the blade is not polished. Appears (I'm definitely no expert) to be shot peened.. Still, for an inexpensive 152, ($15 @ Kmart) not a bad worker in my opinion..

Also, I've been checking into the Rigid versions Codger mentions.. The Bear Foot, MX looks pretty neat - in the pictures anyway...

dannybee, the Black Foot is a cool knife. I wrote about it not long ago.
It is a way cool LOOKING knife, but I have not had time to really use it. I am having a kydex sheath made for one by BFC member 'Normark', am waiting patiently for it.

UHHHH-Huhh !!! I Likes !!! Thanks Phil... My apologies for having missed your previous post.. VERY informative.. As I said elsewhere, lotsa stuff (GOOD!!) to read here... Also, if I may, "ditto" on your "it is needle pointed, razor- shaving sharp".. Likewise for the Outdoor" copy I have.. That thing is deceivingly sharp... But as you say, haven't used it enough to know how well it'll hold...

Thanks again.. Looking forward to seeing that new sheath..

The Rigid knife pictured is a RG152MX which was patterned off of the Schrade 152OTX (Which was only produced in prototypes). The RG152 is the 152OT equiv as is the Outdoor Life FS152
