Ok so I'm not just jumping into this blind, I have been looking into getting a new outdoor blade for almost a year or two now. I currently use a Cold Steel G.I. Tanto for minor chopping, pruning, battoning and walking through the woods messing around kind of bushcraft and for $25 dollars I can't complain one bit. Its a sharp peice of metal with a plastic/kydex sheath. Recently though I have become more serious into buying something a little more effective, non-tanto, made in the USA, actual chopper kind of knife.
Ok so now that I've rambled on enough here are a few I have had my eye on:
-RTAK II - i have heard great things a lot of bang for the buck... but maybe with its better to go Junglas for the better sheath?
-RAT 7 - this is my favorite as of now but again everyone complains about the sheath...
-Tops D.A.R.T. - just saw this one tonight looks very comparable to the Rat 7 but with the kukri style and unfortunately higher price tag
-Busse Team Gemini LB - this is more of a grail knife but it's still a maybe.. i've always wanted a busse and I love the walking dead
If anyone owns, likes, hates, or has any experience with them or wants to suggest other knives feel free to comment.
I apologize for being all over the place but there are so many options.
Thanks,
Jake
