Anybody use a propane heated outdoor shower for camping?
The family would really like one for this season. They're in all the catalogs.
Almost all the things I buy I soon regret and wish I got the other model.
I could use some help here
Thanks

i know this isn't answering your question and may be irrelavent, but...

when i go camping i'll frequently bring along a gallon of water, just the 50 cent ones in the milk jugs at the grocery store.

to get clean, i hang it from a tree or something with some rope, get under it, and stab a few holes into it with me knife. it's cheap, simple, and works out for the most part.

the water is also freezing cold and this method not really family oriented. it's also ghetto, but then again, that's why it's camping, right?

We use a plastic pump-up garden sprayer from Wal-Mart. I think they're about $10-12 or so. Depending on size, they will hold from 1 to 2.5 gallons. I painted our's black to absorb solar heat. You can also just use hot water from the fire or stove. The 2.5 gallon size is good for two quick showers. Pump up the pressure, rinse yourself down with water, lather up and rinse again. It works great. Much easier to use than a typical "solar shower."

We never go car camping without the garden sprayer. It's not only great for showers, but also for washing dishes, cleaning windshields, extinguishing fires, and for water fights!
