Outdoors book?

I'd post this in the survival forum but most of the folks here are the outdoorsy type and I trust this forum, so I figured I'd post it here. I'm looking for a book on basic outdoors survival techniques, mostly to try it out and have some fun outside. Stuff like shelter building and traps, really

Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

I'm also interested in this, I have a list compiled that ive gathered from other forums and such, but always interested in more input and advise. Here's my list...

Tom Brown's field guide
Tom Brown's city and suburban survival
Tom Brown's wild edible and medicinal plants
Hawke's green beret survival manual
The survival handbook: essential skills for outdoor adventure
US Army Ranger handbook

SAS Guidebook by John 'Lofty' Wiseman
US Army Survival manual
Wilderness Survival by Gregory Davenport

Here's my suggestion based on all the batoners we have:

The U.S. Air Force survival handbook is about the best out there. I have a huge bookcase full of survival and outdoors book and I think the U.S.A.F. handbook is the best.

The two i have are the "SAS Survival book" and one i just recently picked up is "survive! By Les Stroud" (survivorman)
The Les Stroud one is actually pretty good. I think so anyways, I'm sure some people might disagree.
