Where is some of the places your Survive! goes with you? I know most of us are driven to be out doors, let's see some of the sights we've been. Of course bonus points for showing some blade. .

Planned a trip for my best friend and I (and our wives, who ditched out last min.) to go to Caddo lake (Texas side). The trip was a blast. We fished in some neat spots.

This was a grove of Cypress trees next to the bayou we started fishing that morning.

The steam boat was pretty neat. We didn't ride it but just getting to see it crust through the bayou was cool.

The Cypress trees engulfed in Spanish moss were beautiful.

A short hike in the hills was an excellent get away.

A nice spot to stop and enjoy the landscape offered by the hills.

A pond that was just off the bayou.

Dinner time! We had steak and 'mystery can' veggies. (The ladies missed out)

Late night fishing passed this tree and just thought it was pretty cool it had this much damage to the roots but was still alive and well.

My buddy was the only one who caught anything. He got this 'monster' catfish. Lol. He was about 6-7 inches long.

All in all it was a great trip we had a blast.

Lol. We really heard a lot of good about the fishing. Guess we needed a boat. All the locals said it was not very good fishing from the park we stayed in. We didn't rough it this time just an over night car camp. Nothing super exciting but was fun getting away from this corner of the world.

that is one hell of a cool car camp spot, all the ones around here are very populated...

Interesting! I have always wanted to tour the US of A and unlike many tourists who travels to all the major touristy spots, I dreamed of camping in the wilderness more. I think it is going to be fun.

That's a great idea! The cities out here basically all suck.

It was highly populated with casita and scamp trailor campers. Looked like a nomad group, one left and less then an hour later they were all gone.

I tried posting this last night. It was the screened in shelter we stayed in. It would have been nice during the summer, cause I'm sure the mosquito's are the size of chicken hawks there during that time of year. They didn't have the 'primitive' camp spots for us to hike to this time. We haven't found one that wasn't populated on the weekend. That's why the Colorado bend trip we went in on the week days.

flying-biting insects are the scourge of a good outdoor adventure, thats why i prefer camping in the colder months. Having a little haven would definitely open up summer options though

Bald cypress are one of the coolest trees still growing. Fun, weird fact.. those little knees they grow that pop up from the soil? No one knows for sure why they do that or how to replicate it. I was into bonsai for a few years and whenever someone could harvest a young BC with knees it was always a big money tree.

Very cool. Are you meaning the roots where they go in and out of the ground? Or are you referring to the roots and how they dissipate into the ground?

Here's another trip. Colorado Bend, Texas.

It was about a 6-7 mile drive on a dirt road to reach this point. From here it was a drop into the valley down to the river.

My buddy will pro ably kill me but here's him on the water. We hopped rocks to get to the middle of the river.

I hate pictures as much as him, but here's me with a fresh water drum. Fun catch, they say a red drum really fights.

Camp was nice and quite, but there was houses across the river. (I don't blame them it was a beautiful place)

My buddies necker I gifted too him.

Found this as we explored off the trail. The ranger said it was an original marker for the park. It over looked an awesome spot on the river.

Gorman Falls was gorgeous. Well worth the hike. I highly recommend it if your in that neck of the woods of Texas as long as its not as hot as it was on us.
