Outer Banks NC ????

My parents are going to the Outer Banks in NC for vacation this summer & my father always has his Belt knife on where ever he goes, it's a Schrade "Old Timer" model 510T (I think) this is a big knife like a Buck 110 only instead of a clip point it's a drop point or spear point. He has been wearing this thing on his belt for as long as I can remember & I'm 35yrs old ! He also has his S.A.K. in his pocket Is this knife gonna be ok for him to wear while in the Outer Banks ?
