Nice pics! I remember when I got my Red Rider BB gun. shot ever bird I could hit off the power lines.... until my dad started up the Bar-b-q pit and said you kill it, you eat it. I was 8. that was the end of that for a while

Great pics and good times with your son. I still have my first BB gun that looks just like that, and is over 30 years old

I was a kill and eat kid too. First time I ate redbird, I started to think about what I shot. I had a Benjamin air rifle, that I used more than my 22. It was quieter, and the ammo was cheaper. I'm not sure how many critters fell before that front sight of that Benjamin, but I know the first. A jack rabbit that was out on the far corner of my horse corral. I shot at it, thought I had missed, usually, they jump and run a little ways. This one just sat there. I went, hayed my horse, threw him a sack of sweetfeed, and went to scare the rabbit. As I got closer, it didn't run, so I thought I would shoot it again. I noticed a red spot behind its left ear. My shot went in behind the left ear and exited the right eye. It never knew what hit it. Tasted better than the redbird. Much better.

Moose

I hate to say it moose, but I will never eat a dirty ass jack-rabbit unless I'm starving.

dirty little bastards those jacks be...

sweet, glad it got there safe. looks like a nice outing with your boy! tiny leaves are showing up, finally. i'm going out tomorrow for a quick hike to welcome spring...heck yeah!

I love these threads. Everybody that can should get those kids out there. Thanks, enjoyed it.

Thanks everyone! I didn't get to do a lot with my father growing up so I'm trying to do all I can with him.
