I know this is a loaded question with tons of variations and opinions. But has anyone used this pattern 76 from GEC? I ordered one like the picture below and was curious if anyone has this traditional in their EDC rotation. Any picks of use or insight to the pattern would be useful. Thanks in advance!

I have one of the original jacks, with clip and pen, but haven't carried it yet.

I too have the 76 Outlaw Jack in copper jigged bone. I very much like the knife. Great in the hand, F&F top notch. I carry it often. I think you'll be impressed. I believe Powernoodle has the exact knife you are ordering.....posting it in the totin forum either yesterday or the day before.

I have the Burnt Stag & the Natural Stag but I don't use them as they just go where they all go ~~ to be Safe Queens so that when I go my 2 boys can take them to the Pawn Shop and sell them for Pennies on the Dollar.!* Heck I won't know it but I will be rolling around in my Casket just a saying a whole bunch of bad words I can't say on here.!* lol

I had a Cocobolo Outlaw Jack. Nice knife. I gave it to a friend who has done more favors to me than I can count, so I'm still behind. ;)

I wish I could have gotten one in that autumn bone. I'd also like a Western Outlaw, maybe even one of the Acrylics.

I don't have the Moose configuration but the #76 Jack is my favorite GEC pattern to carry. Perfect size, nice blade pull with half-stops. I got a Rootbeer Float acrylic when they were introduced and just picked up a second in Mexican Bocote I'd been drooling over for months. I prefer more basic wood scales so this one will be sweet!

Here's Rootbeer when it was new:

Not sure why GEC won't just come out and give us the Stockman configuration on this pattern. It would be the perfect Stockman, in my opinion.

I think it is a nice looking knife and I think it would be fine as a daily user. I'm personally not a big fan of two larger blades as I find this to be redundant, but I think most traditional knives can get te job done for every day stuff. Just use it and see if it works for you

Just wait until you receive it...............the color is much richer in hand than online photos...and having a few in both configurations I actual find this version is more comfortable in hand...slightly...the way the spey is bent downward the tip disappears and has a gently slope in hand, with the Jack the pen sits just in front of the middle finger when holding with little notice.

Mrrampro, a few days ago I picked up a #76 like yours just because I liked the look, the size and the pattern. For me, its just about the right size for EDC, with plenty of blade but not too big in the pocket. The tangs/stops were very sharp on the hand when the knife is closed, but I gently (and barely) knocked the sharpness off with a file. I love the color, and the knife is easy in the hand. I have not had much time with this knife, but at first blush I like just about every aspect of this knife. Like noted above, maybe a small blade in place of the spey would be good, but thats a minor thing for me. See here for a couple of pics to keep your eyeballs busy for a minute.
