Outsourcing heat treatment

Hello,

I am doing the research about the knife making process and preparing to make my first knife. My biggest hang up right now is heat treating. I want to use a stainless steel, likely ATS-34, for the blade (unless someone can convince me of a better steel for a begginer maker). Is there anyone out there that knows of a place that would be willing to heat treat a blade for me on an individual basis (only one blade at a time)? Or what would be the minimum amount of blades that would have to be done? I am wanting to make a balisong so the blade would be approximately 4.5" by 1". Or if there is anyone on this forum that would be capable of this I would be more than happy to pay someone for their services. Thanks in advance.

I did my first blades though Texas Knife Supply with good results.

If you can get enough blades together, Paul Bos is the way to go, however.

Check Shop Talk for more information.

There is also Peters Heat Treating, you can just google them. Very good from what I hear. I will be sending my next batch to them.
