I have been awol from the leather business, forums and e-mail since last Friday. That day I received a call from our local Hospitals emergency room advising that they had received a significant finding on my wife Barb's sonagram, she had felt bloated for a few days and gone in for a test to find out what was wrong.

Well within three hours we were at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. Further tests led to her having surgery on Monday with Chemo planned for down the road.

This past week has been a blur for me. I have not responded to e-mails or updated my web site since last Thursday.

I know this is off topic for this forum, but I wanted to post here as I know that most of my customers check in here. I expect my wife to come home this Friday or Saturday and things should get back on schedule for sheath production. I am planning to get caught up on my PM's and e-mails tonight.

I will also update my web site tonight to properly reflect current order status. I am expecting that I will be 7-10 days behind on any promised delivery date.

I am sorry for not posting sooner and not responding to e-mails, but I just havent had any free time until today.

Barb is currently recovering well at the hospital and the prognosis looks very good. The surgeon felt as though they removed all of the affected organs and along with the chemo things should work out well.

My son and I are staying home today to clean the house and get caught up on sleep and house work. I guess men are pigs. A few days home alone and it looks like a bomb went off in here. :D . I hope she doesnt have internet access because I told her the house looked good.

I am very lucky that my daughter lives in Pittsburgh as she has been a tremendous help during this family crisis, her dedication to family makes me very proud.

We are not in need of any further assistance, as family and friends have that covered.

Your well wishes and understanding are appreciated.

Chuck.

Hope your wife has a speedy recovery and that all things come to "normal" soon!

Wishing you and yours all the best from Holland:thumbup:

The sheaths can wait. Family is always the first priority.
I hope your wife has a quick recovery.
Smoke and prayers headed your way.

Hey Chuck, you take care of your family that is the most important thing and we will be here if you need anything. My family will be praying for yours.

Take care and God Bless you and yours,
Lee

Really sorry to hear that. Hope everything works out. You'll be in our prayers.

Chuck --

That is very scary. Glad to hear she is on the mend, but no doubt you'll be apprehensive for a while. Best wishes for your wife and you.

I will lift up thoughts and prayers. I have performed general and cardio-vascular ultrasounds for 13 years. I always cringe when I hear the symptoms and scan the patient when ovarian cancer is involved.

May she receive the best care and treatment.

Chuck, I am so sorry to hear of this news, although it sounds like things are under control and looking up for the future. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Take good care of yourselves.

My thought are with Barb and you. I wish Barb good health. I wish the best for both of you.

Family first. Don't worry about anyone else... us poor shlubs wait months for very expensive knives WITHOUT sheaths, we can wait for at least "two weeks".

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
