Will,
Since you seem to like making early announcements and then making us wait for delivery I thought you might give us a hint of what is planned for the next OVB. I think it is going to be hard for Camillus to top the Fisk Bowie, but I do have faith. Maybe the next OVB could be the first knife of the phantom Camillus Collectors Club or a version of it (IE different handle material etc.)
Give us a hint !
Jocko

Me too!!!

Slip joint, high carbon steel blades, special scales.

How about a warncliff-ish main blade, pen blade, and coping blade.

Or maybe....????

Jocko,
I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't. Either you get the "scoop" early from the factory, and run the risk of waiting on a production delay, or you find out at the last minute, and feel like the company doesn't "communicate". Since you seem to have a friend on the "inside", you probally understand the difficulty with producing a new product, especially if it is being held to extremely high standards like the OVB line.

Well, the "phantom" Camillus Collector's Club is underway. We will keep everybody informed at the appropriate time. The first club knife has been selected, but it is not the right time to make the announcment. It MAY run into production delays.

JOCKO, don't get me wrong, we appreciate your interest in CAMILLUS and it's products. But please understand that the speed of the internet is much faster than Ol' CAMILLUS CUTLERY, but we are doing our best to catch up! Hopefully the new website that is under construction will help us communicate better.

Next time I'm heading to the factory, I'll email you in advance, and we can go have a beer and look at some knives.

Will,
Hey! Just speaking for me, I am glad you are doing it the way you are!! It is great to get the scoop, get an order in, and enjoy the wait! Kinda like the old Heinz ketchup commercials . . . ANTICIPATION!!!
Production delays are the norm with EVERY knife . . . some companies just do not seem to let us know. Others do the hype and come out with something LESS than expected. Then, the knife buying public turns their nose up. (Seems like the MT Amphibian was a good example of that.) Not to put down any other company but you guys have been putting out the good stuff! I guess we internet junkies have to remember that we are probably a pretty small percentage of overall sales but hopefully give some good feedback on these great projects. I am DYIN to get my hands on my OVB and my MAXX . . . I am just glad that you guys are crankin em out . . . keep it up!!:D :D

Hi All,

This is my first post and I hope it's ok to come in on a topic like this. I have been hanging around on this forum for several months and finaly had to take part.
First let me say that I'm also waiting for the OVB and the Max as well as my first camillus slipjoint,a yellow handled whitler. The waiting is tuff but it's also fun. I look on the Camillus forum two to three times a day for the word of the day. All of your comments and replies just fuel the flames.
I already have an EDC, an Arclite, and a BK7 combate/utility. The EDC is my edc and the BK7 is excellent. I was looking to get a much more expensive fixed blade but now I have no need for one.
Thanks for letting me join in,
Dean

ps: Please count me in on the collectors club......

Will,
I had a bad day at work and I really didn't want my post to upset anyone.
I have always had a hard time waiting for anything. My job doesn't help. I am a printed circuit board designer and when I finish a job my company usually sends it out for a three day turnaround so within a week I get my results.
Since all my working life has been in a production type job I do know about schedules slipping but it doesn't mean I like it.
I would like going out for a beer with you and talking knives.Give me a heads up next time you are in Camillus.

Jocko

I've got a funny feeling that Will is hiding and we won't see him post again until April 1st, when he'll finally show his bushy little head to say, "April Fools! No Fisk/OVB! Bwahahahahahaha!"

Will, we will hunt you down and hurt you. ;)

Yeaaaaaah. We will stone him to near death with 500 pieces of some of the prettiest fiddle back maple you ever saw. :D

Hey MO. how long before you break the tip off your Fisk/OVB and turn it into a Screwdriver? :D
