I am building a H.T oven and was wondering if coating the floor with a coating such as ITC-100 would be beneficial to the life of the ovens chamber?

What size are you building any pics so far I'm on the verge of starting one myself.

No pics yet but I may do a build along type post once I start final assembly. The chamber is going to be 6.75" wide 4.5" high, and 22.0" deep

Not needed or desired in a HT oven.
The walls and floor should soak up the heat and radiate it into the chamber evenly if all surfaces are the same. If the floor is a reflective surface, it will make temperature gradients in the oven....not a good thing for HT.

If I understood melsdad right - He is building an electric HT oven and was asking if there was any need to coat the floor.
The floor should be identical, or at least similar, to the sides as far as refractory properties go. A layer if insuboard is what many ovens have on the floor.

Sorry I didn't phrase that right at all. I was wondering about using mortar to "glue the bricks together". I have read where some just use the bricks dry but it seems like it could be a little more energy efficient if the bricks were mortared together.
