Hi Everybody,

This particular "Zombie Skin" has been soaking for over a year, seriously over a year.

Man it is rank. It is slimy and it takes about a day to get the stink off of my hands.

Nancy calls it the bucket of death, it certainly smells like it .

This rawhide is super tough, I think regular leather would have long since designated, but I am not sure ?
I did soak regular vegi tan leather a whole day and it got awfully spongy ?

Pics :)

Fresh out the bucket (wish this was smell-o-internet)

Perfect timing! I was watching the walking dead season 3 :D

The sheaths and raw hide looks brilliant! Regarding the smell, I'm so glad I'm on the other side of the screen :P

Wow, that looks awesome. I love the stitching and just enough contrast color from the red. The added touch of ghosting in the biohazard logo was the icing on the cake.

After the soak would you be able to do an entire sheath or do you need to combine it with the kydex for it to function?

If it gets wet does it stank again?

How long does it take for the stink to fade from the sheaths?
Or does it?
;)

Eventually :)

From a newbie, what is brewing in what?

Rawhide soaking in Water

I have made a all rawhide sheath long ago, infact that is what inspired me, I was going for a "natural" kydex, but the process was not very easy or functional.
This is an overlay and it is really just for cool looking :)
I will say this Rawhide is really really resilient and tough.

Looks really cool. Is/was it rawhide before soaking?

T

Yup

If it gets wet does it stank again?

Maybe :)
