Overall knife length??? What does this mean?

Hello,

I have a dumb question...on Spyderco's web site they have an overall length listed for their knifes. Is this with the blade opened or closed?
On CRKT's they state the closed knife overall length.

I keep thinking these Spyderco knifes are really long then it just dawned on me maybe they mean with the blade open.

Please clarify this for me.

You got that right. Overall length means knife open. I don't know why CRKT report overall length as knife closed. Usually when knife is closed it's reported as "handle length" or "handle size".
