When your Medford starts to feel a little too dainty. o_O
Got my Reese Weiland Fatty Cobra a couple weeks ago. Had set aside money for the Blade Show last year, but was unable to go, so ordered a knife instead. Yes, it is ridiculous, and partly why I bought it. 13.7oz, 3/8" blade & 15/16" across the handle(not counting clip). After playing with it at my desk(main reason for purchase), it actually makes the Medford seem kind of small & reasonable. I've carried it a few times and it's not too bad, but if wearing my work 5.11 khaki shorts, it makes that pant leg droop down about an inch or two more than the other from the weight. Flame away... :D *on a related note(thick), just got dinged that my Park Ranger is on it's way. woo hoo

This is the physical embodiment of reductio ad absurdam in the world of overbuilt knives. Must be fun to mess about with. :D

Now, my Benchmade Adamas 275 suddenly seems like a sensible option, as opposed to just being my man toy. Thanks! :p

And here I was thinking 5 and half ounces may be a bit much, haha. That's one helluva knife.

That thing is a pocket monster. The weight alone is just crazy.

BUT ...if you like it then who cares? It's your money and your knife. Enjoy it.

But maybe carry another knife when wearing khaki shorts. Just a thought.

So when she asks "Is that just a knife in your pocket? Or are you just happy to see me?" You can say, knife.....but 15/16 of cold hard steel lol.

Half of me realizes how impractical a 3/8" thick folder blade is, while the other half of me giggles like a schoolgirl at the sheer awesomeness of such a knife. :D Very cool.

Hey, I think it's cool, especially if I never needed to cut any thing with it. Its 9ne of those that you own because you can.

I have a really overbuilt folder that is likely even bigger than that, I just haven't measured it. They are just fun to have (except to the people who don't find them fun). I wouldn't carry it day to day, but so what. Glad you like it, enjoy!

The great thing about being older and having a decent job, is you can get by with an occasional frivolous luxury, and okay if it's only use is being played with at my desk. On the flip side, I'm on track to retire next year, so it'll be my last silly purchase.... :)
