Hello,
So i got myself trc apocalypse, and it has the handle attached w those flanged tubes right, so you can’t remove it for maintenance

I would like to ask what do you find good for gap filling, basically i was thinking abt just going around n every gap to fill w glue, hoever,
first, i heared of waterproofing w superglue, but that gets brittle and forms Micro cracks right
So then I thought of using denbraven mamut glue, just for general house purposes, but basically the good thing about it is that
it’s kind of flexible it’s waterproof however, I do know that it will not stick forever, and I would have to remake the glueing every now and then
And i guess last option, I looked into different general purpose epoxy glues, i found something about some kind of flexible epoxy, and also found paper talking about different properties of epoxy glues, and that just standard 2 part epoxy glue is probably the most little flexible, rather than some kind of super hard epoxy or whatever
Also thought of using one of those epoxy repair putty sticks, would be good that i could well fill the gap, but idk how micro flexible that is

Basically what I care about the most is that no liquids food and just dirt, get in the edges and under n between the micarta and steel

And I want the filling material to be preferably hard, flexible enough so with temperature changes it doesn’t unstick or form cracks, and for it not to be water absorbant, so when washed u just rinse it n no stains stay on the glue

If you want the scales off, take them off.

Get a conical shaped carbide burr and a drill motor
The burr wont' catch the way a twist drill would.
Just get through the metal tube rivet.
Finish with a brass punch

you can remove them without too much damage.

the knife should have been assembled with a seal on the scales. epoxy is the usual.
if they didn't do that then reassemble it properly as suggested above. If you're not doing that, maybe soak the entire handle in some sort of drying oil for a while?
