I have a Vertx Gamut coming tomorrow and I was contemplating buy an armor plate for it. Do ya'll think it is a waste of time and money ? Also, if ya'll wouldn't mind recommending one if ya'll think it would be a good idea? Thanks in advance

Kevlar's not a bad idea. My brother just picked up a couple Premier Body Armor Level 3A for his and my 5.11 Covrt18 which fit inside the back panel perfectly. Pretty light too at about 1.75 lbs. I don't know much about armor or the company but it feels like a quality product. I hope that if the need arises that proves to be true.

They have kevlar to fit your pack. At least worth a look.

Edit: They also have steel plates for back packs. They weigh right about 8 lbs. The question is, 8 pounds and rifle protection or under 2 for pistol.
