We're putting together an overland tour of Peru. Basically we will start in Lima, fly to Tarapoto, visit some nice sites around Tarapoto, travel overland to visit Chachapoyas, the ruins of Kuelap, then move on to Chiclayo, the ruins of Chan Chan, down the coastal road to Trujillo and back to Lima. We've done this trip before and it's great. We stay in a hotel every night, eat in restaurants and have a shitload of fun and photography chances. Some of the areas we go will be about 12K feet high and the scenery is un-matched anywhere in the world. It's a real cultural trip. No pricing are scheduling completed yet but if you're interested email us.

We've done it a few times and it's pretty cool. You get to see the jungle, the Andes and the desert all in the same trip, not to mention ancient ruins and a whole lot of culture.

That does sound like a lot of fun. Awesome country to tour - great roads and nice people.

When would this be? As my wife and I were considering a trip to Peru to see Machu Pichu (sp?) in summer of '09 for our 10 year anniversary. This sound much more interesting. I would like to know more details as the plans develop. This also reminds me to get the ball rolling on the passports.

Working out the details with our guides in Peru now. This trip will probably be this year but we can always schedule it again. It's much easier logistically than the survival trips.
