Hey guys, just got home from a quick overnight on the coast and I thought I'd share my trip with ya'll. This is my first backpacking trip-post, so here goes!:
We walked in Friday night, as the coast is a LONG drive for us, and got to making a fire right quick... It was a challenge at first, as this section of beach is on the edge of the Hoh rain forest, and is almost ALWAYS wet. We finally found a good dry dead tree and got to some good dry wood by batoning with my Junglas. Sorry I didn't get any pics, but we were in a hurry
Here is our experiment recipe for the weekend... Peanut butter cookies a la hot rock.... They turned out.... Edible!
Or at least no salmonella yet!

The weather the next day was GORGEOUS. 55 degrees and sunny in January in Washington is a rare sight indeed! We were tempted to go swimming even!

Sheter is a mountain laurel designs trailstar. Fits 2 comfortably, 3 if you don't mind getting cozy, and it weighs 20 oz!!!
ESEE and Spartan blades Phrike glamour shots

We also found a whale carcass and a seal carcass on the beach

We ended the hike on a sandy stretch called Sand point
