For you city folk, that always seem to freak out when you see this! And this was a small patch.

In all it was a great time, and got to test some gear out in some not soo great conditions.

Looks like you had a good time out there. Always nice to get a night out of the house.

Thanks for taking us along Skab! Your gear review cracked me up...we have lot in common:D Looks like a very relaxing trip despite the rain:thumbup:

You said your pillow is a Therma-rest? Looks pretty cool..it's always interesting in the unique things that some people won't leave home without. The "comfort" items that get used and enjoyed are worth their weight in gold!

I really liked you journal...always a good idea to take notes and it looks like you have quite a hand at sketching for references.

Did you re-handle your Ontario? Looks like a good grip.

Thanks again Skab,

ROCK6

Mmmmm, spam!

That's a nice looking fish, too. Isn't it late in the year for the grass to still be green?

First morning light, a highlight of any trip.

---

That grass looks like its still got about three months left on it. I'd expect it to be lush green for a while longer yet.

Awesome pictures and video. They really bring back memories of growing up in North Platte. Is that up near Valentine? My dad and I used to go up there to the lakes and catch a lot of crappie, pike, and perch.

Yup, rehandled the Ontario with home grown micarta, love it even more.

what tarp are you using? Is wild cannabis common in your area or are those someones gardens?

The tarp is an Etowah 10x12. And yes, ditch weed grows all over these parts. As it was grown for making hemp rope during WWII around here. And the Doves and other wild game spread the seeds near and far.
