Oversized Bandannas?

Anybody know a source for large bandannas? A while back I picked one up that was about 26” square and it proved to be a very handy size for all sorts of stuff. Unfortunately, it was lost somewhere along a highway in Guatemala. Maybe is is still being put to good use. Anyway, all the ones I have found locally (NYC) seem to be cut the same size: about 20” square. Any help in finding larger ones (same lightweight cotton as “regular” ones) would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, thank-you-very-much, I clicked on the link and the music Took Over My Mind. I invited the neighbors in for popcorn and beer, and we danced around the room a while. I still haven't got back to the website itself to actually order anything, but my head is ringing to that ridiculous, importunate tune. May I turn the volume down now? :grumpy:

I wanted bigger bandanas too. I picked out some colors I liked in the fabrics at Wally World and had my local seamstress hem up some 36 inchers. Cost was less than five bucks each and I can actually wear these suckers on my bigass skull with room to spare.

Hey Esav, that's not dancin' music. That's settin' round the campfire and singin' to the dogies music.

:D

tarsier i tried to play along but those ringy dingy tones made me hiccup and i swallowed my harmonica.

I don't believe we HAVE any dogies in Noo Joisey ...

Hi All-

The minimum size needed to cover a normal-sized noggin is 21" x 21" if you simply fold it over into a triangle and knot it at the base of your skull. If you prefer greater coverage, don't want to have to tie it so tightly, or desire to utilize the bandanna for other tasks, a larger size would be needed.

I just checked some of my "favorite" bandannas and lo and behold they are larger than the others that have drifted to the bottom of my sock drawer.

The ones at Jinglebob's seem to be of higher quality than what you see in a typical sporting goods or Army/Navy store as best I can tell. Does anybody own any of their products yet for a quick review?

Okay, here's a very quick review... Excellent.

:D

I own three solid-color silks and one solid-color cotton from JingleBob's. They are definitely higher quality than your typical bandana. The weaves and stitching are consistant. Both types have proven to be very tough under regular use. My wife, who knows a lot more about material than I do, thinks quite well of them too.

Hi BobQ-

A silk bandanna seems like it might be a bit "dressy" for carrying a loaded rucksack through the woods on a steamy summer day when grime and sweat is running down your face. One would guess that the 100% cotton would be the superior choice in "active use" situations.

The silk probably works well as a temporary headwrap you can toss in your pocket in case the cold north winds really kick-up during the winter. Let me know what you think of these "bandanna use scenarios" and if they match your experience with the two types of fabric. Thanks much.
