I recently bought my 2nd Benchmade Bugout and along with changing out the hardware to raw titanium, I also replaced the washers. I went from .300x197x.020 to a larger .500x197x.020.

Getting the Bugout tuned just right without blade play is sometimes a very thin line. The oversized washers still allow it to flick open and drop shut, but feels much more solid when locked up.

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but I didn't see much on the topic and thought I would share.

I would also add that this will probably void any warranty, but I’m fine with that.

I have found that any of my Benchmade knives that have a larger pivot, tend to have no play at all (3 1/2" blades or longer). My 551-1 is almost scary, the blade almost seems loose, but no play. It makes sense, as the larger washer would have a larger contact with the blade giving more support.

As far as warranty, from the little I know, as long as what changes you made to the knife wasn't the cause of any warranty work needed, you're good to go.
