You've got a box for me! That's nice... But whait, what is this sh*t? A BOX FILLED WITH FOAM??

Oooh, something was hiding underneath. You got me worried a bit, Mr. Mailman:cool:

Ka-Bar Dozier, hmm? And Ka-Bar BK&T you say? What would be in the little box...

BAM!

Ok, ok, that's nice and all, but what the people over here réally want to know is what's in the bigger box. So, what does that sticker say?

Eek! Buttnaked BK24 alert!

Let's put some pants on, alright?

Who's that guy? He looks a bit beaten, somewhat used. He could use a bath, that's for sure, he's all grey 'n sh*t! But what the heck, join in for a picture. We're in a good mood today.

Anyway, as you guys have seen: I got me some new steel. Huray! I ordered these last week, and they got here in 1 week. Now for that Ka-Bar Swabbie, that's taking 4 weeks and counting, lol. I hope it gets here soon.

That would mean the end of this highly informative post. Thanks for reading:thumbup::D

Congrats on the new steel! Don't worry about that gray stuff on your 14. If it doesn't belong there it'll come off with vigorous use. If it does, it'll only get better the more you use it.

Are you thinking about getting new pants for them or are you sticking with the factory sheaths?

lookin' good my new bk14 and grips should be here today weeee!!!

I know that it wears off, it comes back too. That's one of the features I love about 1095. It patinas very nicely.

I already got a new sheath for my 14 from azwelke, and I'm more than pleased with it:

I'm definitely grabbing one for the 24 as well, but that'll have to wait for atleast a month (or two). I'm thinking of getting another one by Al, but definitely a pancake style this time. Then I can switch it up from pocket carry to one that is mountable on a backpack shoulderstrap. I really love what Al does with his sheaths, but I'm pretty curious to try out some other kydex sheath makers as well. I think I can't go wrong with any of them though, godspeed, 710, Al,... Everything I've seen from them is great so, yeah. That does not make the choice easier by any means. But anyway, I postpone that choice for a while because of a lack of funds now.

Very nice! That dozier is bigger than it looks

Yes it is. Smaller than a Kershaw Skyline, but similar to a Spyderco Delica in overall length. I like the diversity in the line-up. I'd love one with green handles, but I'm not fond of that type of coating. It's definitely grippy, but I'd love to see one in brown micarta or something, like the Phat Bob. That would be something. I also like hollow ground blades for edc. They can get stupid sharp and slice very well, imo. Especially for cutting food, I like a hollow grind. For example, while cutting tomatoes, the slices tend to stick to a flat ground blade, but they nicely fall off of a hollow ground blade. Anyway, I digress...

lookin' good ny new bk13 and grips should be here today weeee!!!

Thanks! And have fun ;)

On a sidenote: The BK24 came pretty sharp out of the box -could even shave hair-, way sharper than my 14 or 16 did. I was very pleased with that.
The Ka-Bar dozier was equally sharp, if not sharper.

I have a Dozier folder. Decent little knife, especially for the money:

Looks good, perfect combo for EDC.

If you want Dozier and brown micarta have a look at the big easy folder.

The coating on the Dozier folders isn't all that grippy and is more of a spay paint than either the new or old Ka-Bar coating.

The Warrior: that was the one I had been eyeing the most. I still think it looks great, but I decided not to get it because of that flimsy coating.

Cam: thanks! I don't think I'll be pairing them up though. I usually go with one blade, except when hiking or camping.

It's cheap, nothing fancy (no fancy steel, no fancy F&F, not a fancy handle material), but it's sharp, works, is grippy and it cuts stuff .
It's also made by Ka-Bar, and imo that's a huge plus.

congrats on the new steel. I have the same Dozier I won when I first joined the forum so it has some sentimental value. It is a great knife, very light and very sharp. I carry it when i have shorts on and/or don't want a heavier blade weighing me down.

Thanks! And yeah, I see myself carrying it quite a bit in the future as well. Cool thing!
