How many of those "ooops" knives you had to throw away or use for heat treatment practice before getting your first useable (not perfect) knife?
I already got a "corkscrew blade" and one that seems ok but which I have probably ground too much with the 60 grit belt and will be probably useless when I get to the 600 belt :D

The OOOOPs are to many to count. If I do not put them back in a billet, they are used for belt hangers.

That's where the material for my smaller knives comes from. Now about those needles I make!!!!!!:D

Never a OOOOPS Knife just a new knife waiting to be made:D ;) :D
I have had way to many over the years to count..Now they are either re-ground or added to a billet of Damascus...
When I first started I decided that i would either make a knife or a pile of steel dust from every knife I tried making,So I ended up with allot of small kitchen knives or kid size skinners or even fillet knives, but I would keep trying and not give up..

I have a few messed up blades in the shop. They remind me to be careful and take my time when working - every one of them is the result of me trying to hurry things up. :)

Most of my oops knives wind up in the kitchen drawer or just lay around the shop if they're too bad to put handles on. Happens every time I get in a hurry.

Hehehe Peter... My first attempt kept on becoming shorter and thinner, shorter and thinner... :D :D :D
I'll have to keep it for heat treatment tests... or try to recover it in some way... A fillet knife maybe... A very small one :D
Now I begin to understand how some makers make a miniature:D :D :D

Now your getting the idea...Nobody but you has to know that the knife you are showing was a mistake to start off with;)
