This has been in the making for quite a while...
It all started when Owen Bush(UK) asked me if I was interested to do a collaboration with him useing a damascus sword he had made.
Guess if I hesitated long to answer him....
The blade was, of course, forged by Owen from a piece of damascus made by Don Fogg himself!
The handle is made with yewburl, mammoth tooth, oxidized copper and pewter.
The copper pommel is threaded on tightly to keep everything in place.
Cutting 20mm copper with a hacksaw is not something I will do again anytime soon!
The sheath/scabbard is, by far, the most labour intensive so far!
I have never drilled som many holes or put that many stitches into anything so far!
Doubble aluminium welts with leather in between.
"Belt loop" with a pivot and yewburl spacer.
"Sheild" made with yewburl and copper, bottom endpiece is also copper.
The overall length of this piece is 770mm with a 550mm blade.
Any and all comments are as usual more than welcome!
Thanks for looking!
Regards
